Bio

Maeve is an International Relations student at UCSB with a research interest in conflict and development in Subsaharan Africa. Maeve's research focuses on how nomadic groups in Subsaharan Africa interact with land, the state, and one another, using that information to help shape sustainable development goals. Previous research Maeve has written has been discussing the international community's engagement with the Rwandan and the Bosnian conflict, and comparison of individuals reported state trust and fears of violence in Mali. Their research agenda is to take a holistic and culturally sensitive perspective to international relations, land use, and border conflicts.
