Department Scholarships 

The department encourages undergraduate students to take advantage of a range of special opportunities to broaden their educational experience, including university-wide programs such as UCDC, and departmental programs such as Freshman Seminars and Independent Studies.

Larry Adams Scholarship in Public Policy
The Larry Adams Scholarship, named in honor of former UCSB Professor Larry Adams, recognizes the importance of local internships and the benefit that such experiences can have for UCSB students. Applicants must be a political science major working as an unpaid intern in a local government agency 10-12 hours per week.  The scholarship is awarded at the end of each fall, winter, and spring quarters.

Louis Lancaster Scholarship for International Studies
The Lancaster Scholarship is a financial scholarship for undergraduate students majoring in political science with a strong interest in international relations.  Students must be in residence at UCSB for the 2017-2018 academic year.  The scholarship is awarded each spring.

Kevin Patrick Moran Scholarship
The Kevin Patrick Moran Scholarship was established in memory of Kevin Patrick Moran, a UCSB honor sstudent who lost his life in the process of bringing peace to the Isla Vista Community. The fund provides scholarship assistance to worthy undergraduate students who demonstrate leadership qualities, a high degree of academic promise and a commitment to the peaceful principles by which Kevin Moran lived. The scholarship is awarded each spring.

Reg Robinson Award for Excellence
The Reg Robinson Award for Excellence is awarded to political science majors with the highest grade point average in international relations courses. The Reg Robinson Award Committee announces nominations each spring quarter.

Costigan Scholarship
The Costigan Scholarship is a financial scholarship for upper division students majoring in Political Science with a strong commitment to conservative politics. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens. The scholarship is awarded each Spring.
