Job Opening in International Relations

The University of California, Santa Barbara Department of Political Science seeks a scholar in international relations for a tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor effective July 1, 2014. Applicants should have completed the Ph.D. by the appointment date. Applicant may specialize in any aspect of international relations, but the Department is particularly interested in a scholar whose research engages issues at the boundaries of the traditional subfields of international relations and comparative politics. These involve, for example, issues of international migration, international organizations, NGOs, and transboundary problems of all sorts. They may also relate to the Department's strong inter-disciplinary foci in studies of identity and the environment. The successful candidate must be qualified to teach core graduate seminars in international relations. His or her research should be theoretically informed and must demonstrate mastery of appropriate research methods.
