U.S. Policy toward China since the Nixon administration has consistently sought to engage with China to build a constructive relationship with it while our military presence in Asia serves as a hedge against the uncertainty of China's future behavior. Recent domestic and foreign policy trends in China have sparked a debate in America about whether these trends indicate a need to revise our approach. The speaker will provide her own perspective on how America can best shape China's future choices.
