Description: This is an upper-division course on international relations (IR) theory. The course examines leading approaches to the study of international relations and familiarizes students with key debates in the field. Along with surveying contemporary theories and approaches to IR, students will also read excerpts from classic works by Thucydides, Machiavelli, Hobbes, Grotius, Rousseau, Kant, and Lenin.
