Neil Narang

Welcome.

I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of California - Santa Barbara. Previously, I was a Junior Faculty Fellow and Visiting Assistant Professor at the Center for International Security and Cooperation (CISAC) at Stanford University, a Research Fellow and Lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania, and a Nonproliferation Policy Fellow at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. I have been affiliated with the Centre for Conflict, Development, and Peacebuilding at the Graduate Institute, Geneva and the University of California Institute for Global Conflict and Cooperation as the Director of the Public Policy and Nuclear Threats Program. I received my PhD in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego and I earned my BA in Molecular Cell Biology and Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley.

My research interests include international security, conflict management and peacebuilding, and international institutions. I am currently working on projects related to the causes and consequences of humanitarian assistance as a peacebuilding strategy in conflict and post-conflict states, the role of international reputation, and the causes and consequences of WMD proliferation.
