Announcements
Announcements are listed in reverse chronological order from most to least recent.
- If you are interested in receiving comments on your paper, please do let me know
this either in person, via e-mail, or by writing it on your paper. I'm happy
to provide comments, but since it takes time, I would only like to do so if you'll
be picking the paper up! [6 Dec]
- For those interested in more classes on the Middle East, PS 150B, focusing on
the Gulf, is being taught in the winter quarter by Professor Bouraad-Nash. [6 Dec]
- Extra credit responses can be turned in until the end of the business day
on Friday, 14 December (when the final exam is also due). [6 Dec]
- Heather will hold extra office hours after class on Tuesday, 4 December from
3:30 to 5:00 pm. [30 Nov]
- As discussed in class, there will be no showing of the documentary on Jewish
fundamentalism tonight (TH 29 Nov); instead, just either watch it
yourself on your computer using the link below or borrow the DVD from Heather. [29 Nov]
- We'll try another showing of the documentary "Israel's Next War" on Thursday,
29 November from 5:30-6:30 pm, assuming that enough students are available and
interested. Also, for those with fast internet connections,
you can watch it online from PBS, broken into four "chapters" (click here for the link). [27 Nov]
- Heather will have an extra hour of office hours from 4-5pm on Wednesday,
28 November. [26 Nov]
- I will show an extra-credit documentary on Jewish fundamentalism after class on
Tuesday, 27 November (3:30-4:30 pm). As long as enough students are interested in
attending, which we'll figure out in class that day, we'll go ahead with this. [26 Nov]
- Heather will only hold office hours until 4 pm on Thursday, 15 November, and
will instead hold an extra hour of office hours after class on Tuesday, 20 November
(until 4 pm). [14 Nov]
- The midterm will be held in class on Thursday, 8 November as planned. You do
not need to bring a blue book, just something to write with (preferably a pen). [5 Nov]
- Heather will have office hours on Tuesday, 6 November after class (from 3:20-5:00)
instead of her regularly scheduled office hours on Thursday, 8 November. She will be
out of town from Wednesday, 7 November through Saturday, 10 November,
and may not have e-mail access during this period. [5 Nov]
- I've added a screening of "The Bubble", Eytan Fox's most recent movie, on 4 November
to the list of extra credit events. [31 Oct]
- I have been able to reserve a room for a second extra-credit showing of "Walk on Water"
at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, 30 October: Phelps 1445. In class that afternoon, we'll see
how many students are interested in attending; if there are enough, we'll go ahead
with it. [26 Oct]
- The first extra-credit showing of the movie "Walk on Water" will be at 3:30 p.m. on
Thursday, 25 October in 2123 Girvetz. [24 Oct]
- I've added a link below to a website where you can hear more translated Israeli
music (Shkufiot), if you're interested. [11 Oct]
- Note that there are NO sections for the class, despite the fact that you enrolled
in one. Just come to lecture! [27 Sep]
- Welcome to Israeli Politics! [14 Sep]
