Many things interest me beyond my profession. I can not get enough of the deserts of Southern California- especially the eastern Mojave, where there are still plenty of quadrangles without an inch of pavement on them. I love to backpack and for that I go to the Sierras when possible and, more often, the transverse ranges of the Central Coast. My wife and I take photos of wildlife - mainly birds for her and mammals for me. I''ve been a runner for years and have recently been dabbling in triathlons.
