Jessica Timpany Wins T.A. Teaching Award

Photo of Jessica Timpany The UCSB Academic Senate has designated Jessica Timpany as one of the recipients of their campus-wide distinguished teaching awards for 2005-2006. The Senate gives only four such awards to Teaching assistants each year; Jessica was the sole winner from 35 departments in social sciences and humanities. Jessica is a Ph.D. candidate and lead Teaching Assistant in the Political Science Department. Her faculty evaluations emphasize how she goes above and beyond what is expected of her, offering such extra services as course webpages, mid-quarter evaluations, and section questions that are geared to both lectures and readings. One professor describes her as "the best TA I have had in ten years at UCSB."
