Political Science Student Presentations Win Awards

Jason Nossiter, 2006 UCSB Honors Student, was one of three students whose papers were selected by the Forum on Education Abroad to be presented at their annual Forum conference in March, 2007. Jason's topic is "France Says 'Non': Elites, Publics, and the Defeat of the EU Constitutional Treaty Referendum." The other two award winners were from Columbia and Cornell. Jason's Honors Advisor for this paper was Assistant Professor Heather Stoll.

Graduate student Rebecca Glazier's presentation, "Just Intervention in Genocide: Extending the Theoretical Applications of Just War Theory" won the award for the best graduate student paper at the 2006 International Studies Association (ISA-West) Conference in Las Vegas. Rebecca also presented "God in the War Room," a poster based on her research, at the APSA Annual Meeting in Philadelphia in September 2006.
