Political Science Lecturer/Alum Wins Fulbright

Michael V. McGinnis, Ph.D. '93 (Political Science) and lecturer in both Political Science and Environmental Studies, has received a Fulbright Scholar Award to teach in Montenegro in 2008. He will be teaching marine policy, integrated coastal management, and ecosystem management at the University of Montenegro's Institute of Marine Science located on along the Bay of Kotor, while conducting research on Mediterranean-type ecosystems.

In addition to his teaching duties in Political Science and Environmental Studies, McGinnis also teaches a graduate course in coastal marine policy for the Bren School, and is currently Acting Director of UCSB's Ocean and Coastal Policy Center.
