Cynthia Kaplan To Join Steering Committee at Tartu University Research Center

Cynthia Kaplan, Professor of Political Science at UCSB, has been invited to join the steering committee of the Research Centre of Culture and Communication at Tartu University, Estonia. As a member of the steering committee, she will participate in international evaluation processes concerning the Centre, consult on the Centre's projects and applications, and provide feedback and suggestions for the further development of the Centre's activities.

Cynthia Kaplan is a specialist on ethnicity, political participation, and the politics of Russia and the successor states of the former Soviet Union. Her forthcoming book on political mobilization and the collapse of the Soviet Union (co-authored with Henry Brady), will be published by Cambridge University Press.
