America's Kingdom: Mythmaking on the Saudi Oil Frontier Robert Vitalis, Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania, will discuss his new book on U.S.- Saudi relations in the postwar era, and especially the role of American oil companies in defining the political, economic, and social aspects of that relationship. Professor Vitalis is highly regarded as a scholar and speaker, and is very effective in bringing together the approaches of various disciplines within humanities and social sciences. This presentation by the Center for Cold War Studies is co-sponsored by the Department of Political Science and other UCSB departments.
