Historical Memories, Resurgence of Nationalism in East Asia,
and Paths to Reconciliation
The Center for Cold War Studies and the Department of Political Science are co-sponsoring
this international conference featuring scholars and researchers from around the globe.
Participation in the two-day scholarly portion of the conference is by invitation only;
however, the conference will begin with a public forum that will underscore the importance
of the conference issues for the future peace and stability of East Asia.
Featured speakers at the forum will be Professor
Gilbert Rozman of Princeton University, and the Honorable Kazuhiko Togo, Japan's former
Ambassador to the Netherlands and currently Public Policymaker in Residence at UCSB. The
commentator for the forum will be Professor Mike Mochizuki of George Washington University.
