Turkey and the European Union: Mutual Challenges of Citizenship Soli Ozel Soli Ozel is Professor of International Relations and Political Science at Istanbul’s Bilgi University, and has been a visiting professor at several universities, including St. Antony’s College, Oxford and UC Santa Cruz. He has been directly involved with the negotiations for Turkey’s accession to the European Union and is a columnist for the daily newspaper, Sabah. This lecture is a presentation of the Citizenship and Democracy in the 21st Century Faculty Research Group of the Interdisciplinary Humanities Center, and is co-sponsored by the Center for Middle East Studies, Global Studies Program, Law and Society Program, and the Political Science Department.
