Graduate student Egidio Garay ("E.G.") is one of two 2009 recipients of the SAGE Sara Miller McCune Fellowships in the Division of Social Sciences.

E.G. began his doctoral studies in political science at UCSB in the Fall of 2008, after obtaining an M. A. from California State University, Los Angeles while teaching high school social science.  His research interests focus on political psychology, including cognition, affective components of decision making, and the impact of information deficits on political decision making.  

E.G. also has received a Summer Research Award  from the UC Diversity Initiative for Graduate Study in the Social Sciences (DIGSSS) this year.
